The Conservative Woman's Guide: Chloe Anagnos Edition
We talk communism, motherhood, and so much more.
Interviewing guests for The Conservative Woman’s Guide podcast is one of the highlights of my work right now. I learn from each of the guests and love sharing their stories with our listeners. Don’t miss my episode with Chloe Anagnos, Marketing Director at America’s Future, and fellow Hoosier. She was a super energetic guest!
We talk communism. She shared her family’s experience with it.
“Unfortunately, my great-grandparents passed before I had the chance to know them, but they were imprisoned for between four to five years because they would not join the Communist Party in Greece. And one of the stories that my yiayia, who’s still with us, she I think just turned 87. One of the stories that she would tell was when you’re a political prisoner, they don’t feed you. So she and her sisters at the time were only six, seven years old and would take them food everyday. And they had guards that were outside the prison, who would tell my yiayia and her sisters, my great-aunts, ‘Oh, we’re going to kill them today, why are you bringing them food?’”
I asked her about the online debate over tradwives and girlbosses.
“I think there’s a really good in-between, between being a boss babe and a tradwife, and I think that’s people like you and I Karin have kind of like figured that out. It’s like hey, I can be super successful in my career, and then on the weekends, like we go to a kid’s birthday party, we spend all day, with our kiddos, and then we do x, y, and z. But I think that right now in our culture, at least with a lot of the discussion that I see online, is that you can’t be in-between. You have to be one or the other, and that’s just not true.”
I agree that the discussion is much more complicated than two competing visions.
